On Saturday, 4 October 2025, the tourist information office is offering an approx. 15 km hike on the first stage of the Eifel Ladder to mark the 10th anniversary of the Eifel Ladder. The hike goes from Niederzissen to Bad Breisig. Of particular interest is the Bausenberg, a volcanic horseshoe crater. The hike starts on Saturday, 4 October 2025 at 10:00 at the Tourist Information Bad Breisig. From there, there is a short bus journey to Niederzissen. The participation fee is €5, €3 with a valid guest card, children are free. There is also the cost of the bus journey.
