The Rhine Gate is the representative entrance to the city on the side of the Rhine and is one of the oldest double gates on the Rhine.
The Rhine Gate is the representative entrance to the city on the side of the Rhine and is one of the oldest double gates on the Rhine. The part on the city side was built around 1200. The two larger-than-life romanesque tuff figures in the inner courtyard are affectionately called the "Andernach baker's boys" in the vernacular.
