Heimi - Das Heimbach-Krokodil
56325 St. Goar
Heimi - The Heimbach crocodile Have you spotted him? Heimi the crocodile has lived here in his Heimbach valley for many years. He actually comes from far away and was only here on vacation. He was invited by his distant cousin UWE, the emerald lizard - our World Heritage mascot. But he enjoyed this vacation so much that he stayed right here. In the notch valley of the Heimbach stream, he feels very much at home in the humid climate of the gorge embedded in steep rock faces. Numerous springs feed the Heimbach. Probably the most beautiful is the sinter spring at the “Alte Mühle”. Here, the water from the Werlau corridor also flushes out the lime, which is then deposited on the slate stones. Heimi and Uwe often meet up at the old mill and reminisce about the past with wonderful stories.
