City Soldier Corps Rut-Wieß Linz e.V. from 1934
In der Au 20, 53545 Linz am Rhein
The Stadtsoldaten Rut-Wieß Linz e.V. from 1934 is the oldest male carnival corps in Linz am Rhein. Since its foundation, the Stadtsoldaten family has grown into a large family with over 80 uniformed members, a thirty-strong band, a field kitchen with a goulash cannon, a float team, its own women's group and over 190 inactive members. Rhenish customs and the Linz Fastelovend in particular are very important to the corps. Because here in Linz, we live the tradition and carry it forward into the future year after year. However, it is also a tradition for the Stadtsoldaten to constantly break new ground and develop further. Examples of this are the ‘Bürgerfrühschoppen’, the ‘Tanz in den Mai’ on the market square and the ‘Verhaften’ on Carnival Sunday.
