The old crane is a stone / tower crane with two wheels, which were brought into circulation by sick people. It was built in 1554-1561 instead of a floating crane. The Alte Krahnen was in operation until 1911 and mainly loaded millstones, tufa and wine. The Alte Krahnen was of great relevance for the economic importance of the city.
